2000 Manual Digital Multimeter
Manual Digital Multimeter - CATIII 300V

The ACT 2000 is an ideal multimeter for alarm installers which offers excellent value and performance. This quality 31/2 digit ‘1999 count’ multimeter has a total of 26 ranges. The multimeter operates by simply turning the rotary switch manually to the function and range required. A particularly useful feature of this multimeter is that resistance, voltage and mA current readings can be made without moving the test lead socket positions. Battery life is approximately 500 hours and battery low indication is provided. The ACT 2000 is attractively styled in a robust ABS case with flip stand, and is supplied with test leads and operating manual.

Functions of a multimeter: A multimeter is used to make various electrical measurements, such as AC and DC voltage, AC and DC current, and resistance. It is called a multimeter because it combines the functions of a voltmeter, ammeter, and ohmmeter.

Multimeters may also have other functions, such as diode and continuity tests. A multimeter tests electrical continuity. It also can measure the amount of alternating current (AC or household current) or direct current (DC or battery current) in a plugged-in or live circuit. It can check voltage, too.

A multimeter is a very valuable diagnostic tool. With engine management systems being electronic it is one of the most powerful and versatile tools. With a good wiring diagram and a good multimeter, you can find the cause of almost any problem be it electrical or electronic. There are two basic types of multimeters, digital and analog. Analog multimeters have a needle and the digital has an LCD or a LED display..
